Week St Mary – Adventure Church

Adventure church meets weekly after school at the church in Week St Mary to hear a story, say a prayer and have an active Adventure. Recent activities have included making a fire and cooking their own tea, building a pyramid, holding a tea party for special guests in the parish hall and going for a walk in the dark with a home made lantern.

During the winter most of our Adventures take place indoors but in better weather we aim to be outdoors and active as much as possible.

Parents are asked to attend with children if they possibly can and certainly if they are very young. We expect older children to be responsible, caring and to set an example to others. Activities are organised so that there is something for all ages.

Ring 01288 341221 if you would like more information, or just turn up on a Tuesday!

Week St Mary Adventure Church meets every Tuesday at 4.30 pm in Week St Mary Church.

Widemouth Residents’ Group

The Widemouth Bay Residents’ Group meets approximately every 8 weeks in the Summerhouse in Leverlake Rd to discuss issues regarding the village and locality such as planning applications, rubbish collection, Speedwatch, and litter to name but a few.

We started the group because we feel that a more united front would get more response from Cornwall Council regarding planning issues, and to foster a feeling of community in the face of the increase in holiday houses and second homes.

We are an informal group and anyone is welcome to attend. We also organise a couple of social events during the year and village litter picks when we feel they are needed. We meet at 4pm in the winter and 5pm in the lighter months.

For more information contact Rachel Roberts on 361582 or Nicky Vereker on 361530
